Monkeypox
The 7th of May saw a report of Monkeypox from the UK which heralded a number of clusters which have to date totalled 9 cases. Some of these are in gay and bisexual men and although human case to case transmission is rare there are worrying features in these clusters that may imply a change in the pathogenic range of the virus. The situation is rapidly evolving and clinicians need to familiarise themselves with the features of this disease since a number of the UK cases presented to departments of sexual health.
